The Chicago Cubs are a good baseball team. You know they are going to start making some more additions now that they have a manager like Craig Counsell in the mix. They have been making some good additions each of the last two seasons and now they are ready for more.

One thing they could use is some starting pitching. One good one should be considered a minimum. However, if they can get one on the cheaper side, a different (more expensive one) could also be in the mix as well.

Dylan Cease might be a good option for them if they are looking for a good starter on the cheap side. Of course, Cease was originally with the Cubs before he was sent to the Chicago White Sox in a trade.

Cease might be on the block now and the Cubs should be all in on him. They would have to give up something of value but it could be worth it. One of these three packages might get it done:

Trade One

The Chicago Cubs aren’t getting Dylan Cease back without a good return.

Pete Crow-Armstrong wasn’t all that good when he was called up by the Cubs in 2023. He had a few good moments in centerfield but he wasn’t good at the plate at all. He is expendable with all of the good players the Cubs have on their team.

They may be active in the outfield market as well. Cody Bellinger and Juan Soto lead a good group of players that the Cubs can consider in the outfield. With Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki in the mix with them, there is not going to be all that much room.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, however, would be a great addition to the White Sox. He could play right field for them with Andrew Benintendi in left and Luis Robert Jr. in center.

This could be an idea that works out for both parties as the Cubs will be getting a very good starter while the White Sox are getting a great position player prospect that they can have for a long time.
