2 winners (and 2 losers) from the Bears loss to the Saints
Losers
1. Tyson Bagent
The Chicago Bears are a bad football team as we’ve said a lot since the start of the season. A large reason for it is the fact that they don’t have a good quarterback. Justin Fields isn’t the guy and he is now hurt so someone even worse is playing in his spot.
Tyson Bagent was a nice story in the preseason but he is not good. He was an undrafted D2 quarterback for a reason and it is now showing. He was not very good against the Saints at all.
Bagent went 18 for 30 for 220 yards. He hit Kmet for the two touchdown passes but he threw three interceptions in the contest. It was just a terrible game for him in every way. He did rush the ball 8 times for 70 yards which is nice but that just isn’t enough. His lack of good play is a big reason they lost.
2. Eddie Jackson
When you watch the Bears’ defense play, it is hard to avoid noticing how Eddie Jackson plays. He doesn’t seem to be putting his full effort into every game anymore. He used to be an incredible player at his position but he has fallen off as the Bears team got worse.
It is hard to tell if he would regain his magic if he changed teams but this isn’t it anymore. Against the Saints, he had five tackles and two assists. He needs to be flying out there to make an impact and it showed on Sunday that he doesn’t seem to want to play that hard right now.
Hopefully, everyone who played well this week can keep it going and those who didn’t can be ready to turn it around the next time they play. That will come on Thursday night when they take on the Carolina Panthers for Thursday Night Football.
