The Chicago Bears are one of the worst teams in the NFL. Right now, it is honestly shocking that they have won two games this season. They ended a really long double-digit winning streak a few weeks back and they have been playing much better but they have no future this season.

The trade deadline is fast approaching and you’d think that the Bears are going to be sellers. Their record and the way that they have played football over the course of this season is a large indicator of their intentions as well.

With all of that in mind, there might be a trade that they can make to help them in the present but also in the future. That is to make a deal for Washington Commanders pass rusher Chase Young. There are rumors out there that this will happen.

Young was the second-overall pick out of Ohio State in the 2020 NFL Draft. He only went behind Joe Burrow (LSU) of the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, Young is one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL.

The Chicago Bears are one of the teams looking at pass rusher Chase Young.

In 2022, Young only played in three games because of an injury. He is coming back from that this season as he has already played six games. He has been very good in all of these games. He is a free agent after this season too but he can have the franchise tag placed on him.

If he and the Bears could come up with a fair contract, that would be even better though. The Chicago Bears should absolutely try to trade for him so they can see if he’d be willing to stay. The franchise tag is always a good backup plan.

At 24 years old, Young could have a decade of great football left in him. He is very young and very good. Guys like this don’t hit the trade market very often. He’d help the Chicago Bears build a defense that is much better than what we’ve seen. It wouldn’t happen overnight but it would be a good start.

Ryan Poles, for better or worse, hasn’t been afraid to make big moves that he thinks are going to help the football team. If the price is right, they should consider it.
