3. Cody Bellinger

The Chicago Cubs might let the walking of Cody Bellinger derail their team.

The Chicago Cubs hit a home run last off-season when they signed Cody Bellinger to a one-year deal. He had some really tough years with the Los Angeles Dodgers to end his tenure there. He did, however, earn a World Series win amongst other things.

With all of that said, he needed a change of scenery as much as anyone in the league. And most MLB players would probably agree with that. There is no way that he fell off a cliff that hard as he just needed to be out of the Dodgers organization.

Well, the Cubs certainly helped him get his swing going and helped him get back into game shape. He was one of the best players in the league again for most of the series. There was a point when it looked like he was going to be in the NL MVP conversation.

Hen ended up coming back just a little bit but he was still great all season long. Unfortunately, it looks like Bellinger is going to be taking his talents somewhere else. The Cubs never got a deal done with him and now he is free to go anywhere he wants.

Bellinger could still opt to return to the Cubs but it doesn’t feel possible at this stage of the game. Don’t be surprised if he isn’t back. All of this success with the Cubs will help him get a great deal though which he absolutely deserves.
