Bears: 3 college quarterbacks who can replace Justin Fields

Drake Maye playing for the Chicago Bears would certainly be fun to see.

The Chicago Bears may not end up with Caleb Williams out of USC. You probably need to have the number one pick in the draft to get him which is far from a lock at this point. You never know how that shakes out by the end of the year.

Someone that the Bears might consider for a QB with a top-five pick is Drake Maye out of North Carolina. He projects to be a top-five pick and the second quarterback selected in the first round (unless something changes between now and the end of the season).

Drake Maye is a very skilled player who can make plays as the center. It isn’t certain that he will become a star in the NHL but if the Bears want to move on from Fields, Maye is one of the only realistic options for them.

Some people would not want to see the Bears draft another North Carolina quarterback because Mitch Trubisky was a bust. However, Houston Texans fans are happy they didn’t listen to all of the people ripping on CJ Stroud just because he went to Ohio State.

The school does not define the player’s ability. How he is developed by the organization is what is most important in addition to the player’s willingness to work hard. Drake Maye is a great option for Chicago.
