3 winners (and 2 losers) for Bears in week 5 win over Commanders
Losers
The Bears won the game but not everybody on the team had a great game.
1. Darnell Mooney
Darnell Mooney didn’t have the best game of his career. He is having a decent year so far on this bad team but he wasn’t at his best in this one. For one, it didn’t make him look good to see Moore play that well. It is clear why the Bears went out and got a true WR1.
Mooney was targeted a handful of times but he didn’t have a single reception. There were a few throws that Justin made and Mooney just straight up didn’t catch them. A few of them would have either scored a touchdown or gotten them really close to the endzone.
This is a player with a high ceiling as a receiver but this game was just a minor setback. We know he will bounce back in short order but there is no doubt that this one was a dud for him.
2. Chase Claypool
The Chicago Bears did not dress Chase Claypool for the second week in a row. That is also the second week in a row that the offense didn’t look completely terrible. It is clear that they are better off without him.
He is not some accomplished receiver who can go around and make the types of comments that he makes. He has been a terrible acquisition by the Chicago Bears and they would take that trade back if they could 10 out of 10 times.
Now, there is clearly no point in them playing him again. They can either cut him or trade him but he was not missed in this game. That is not good for him as he tries to resume his NFL career.
