3 winners (and 2 losers) for Bears in week 4 loss to Broncos
Losers
The two biggest losers from this Chicago Bears game don’t wear pads.
1. Matt Eberflus
Matt Eberflus had a terrible game as the head coach of the Chicago Bears in this one. Things were looking good when they were up but his team showed nothing in the second half. He is a defensive-minded coach and the defense was terrible when they were needed the most.
The offense also fell off in the second half after a dominating first half but they found themselves in field goal range tied at 28. On 4th and 1, however, Matt decided to go for it instead of taking the lead with a field goal. This came with just a handful of minutes left.
Of course, the Bears turned it over on downs and gave the ball back to the Broncos. They came down the field and kicked what ended up as a game-winning field goal. Eberflus made a horrible decision which makes him the big loser of the week. It is time for him to go in all honesty.
2. Ryan Poles
Ryan Poles isn’t quite on the hot seat as much as Matt Eberflus is but it is warming up. This team is horrible and he built it. We didn’t expect the Super Bowl but we didn’t expect to go backward when they had the number one pick a year prior.
The defense was upgraded in the off-season but we’ve seen them give up 25+ in 14 straight games while Khalil Mack is in another city getting six sacks in one game. It is disgusting and he better find a way to get this team turned around soon.
