The Chicago Cubs pulled off a big win on Sunday to avoid a four-game sweep by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now, however, they are calling up their top prospect Pete-Crow Armstrong to make sure they continue getting better.

The Cubs are seen as playoff contenders but not necessarily World Series contenders just yet. However, if the kid known as PCA comes in and is wonderful, they just might be.

The Cubs acquired PCA in the trade that sent Javier Baez to the New York Mets. He has been one of their best prospects ever since coming over.

Right now, he is their number one guy as he should be. He is also considered to be one of the top prospects in all of baseball.

The Chicago Cubs are calling up their top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Right now, he is the number 12 guy in the league. It shouldn’t be long before he is considered to be a very good Major League player.

The news came out that the Cubs are calling him up on Monday and it will become official ahead of their game against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.

PCA is an outstanding defensive outfielder and should make an impact right away in that department. The Cubs will be a much more defensively sound team with him in center. With Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki alongside him in the outfield, it should be a great trio.

That also ensures that Cody Bellinger could just settle in at first base. Of course, this is all dependent on if he comes to the league and hits well.

He is less of a power hitter than a contact hitter but his numbers in the minors are off the charts. He should provide a boost to their starting lineup in terms of offense as well.

If PCA hits the ground running, that will be one less weak spot in the lineup than there was ahead of his call-up.

The Cubs are showing everyone that they are all in this year. They want to be a good team and they do the things necessary to make that happen. Adding PCA to the lineup is one of those things at this point of the season. Everybody should be very excited about this.
