Bears News: Aaron Rodgers injured on a Leonard Floyd sack
The Chicago Bears are a bad football team and nobody is questioning that. They were smoked by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and it was embarrassing on every level.
The Packers beat the Bears without Aaron Rodgers who is no longer their quarterback after 18 years. He is certainly one of the game’s all-time legends.
2023 is the year that he has moved on. He is now a member of the New York Jets after a big off-season move. Of course, this storyline sent shockwaves around the NFL world.
On Monday Night Football, Aaron Rodgers made his Jets debut as they closed out Week One against the Buffalo Bills. This game did not go the way that he or the Jets wanted.
Just a few plays into the game, Rodgers hurt his ankle. He was immediately removed from the game and taken to the tent. Eventually, a cart came and took him away. He was notably wearing a walking boot.
A former Chicago Bears first-round pick sacked Aaron Rodgers on the play.
This is as bad as it can get for the New York Jets who feel cursed. This is the worst news that they could have possibly gotten.
It was former Bears first-round pick Leonard Floyd that made the sack of Rodgers on the play that he was injured. That is a crazy wrinkle to the whole story.
After some time with the Bears, Floyd has played with the Los Angeles Rams where he had tons of success including a Super Bowl win.
Rodgers had his X-rays come back negative but he is ruled out for the rest of the game. This will obviously be a top sports story for a long time until we have a resolution.
Rodgers’s playing is better for the NFL. Until he comes back (if he does), Zach Wilson will be under center for the Jets. This should be interesting.
