The Chicago Bears must be watching TNF this week

The Chicago Bears were a bad football team in 2022. That led to them having the worst record in the league which turned into them having the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

They ended up trading the pick to the Carolina Panthers for a complete haul which is good for them but it is time to start seeing the team take steps forward.

It will not be a Super Bowl year or anything like that but they can try to be a playoff bubble team. Even if they don’t make it, they should still strive for an improved year.

They will kick things off on Sunday when they take on the Green Bay Packers. This is a chance for them to show the world that they can win some big games this year.

The Chicago Bears are ready to begin a season in which they have expectations.

Before we get to Sunday, however, there is a big Thursday Night Football game to kick off the season. 

That will take place on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs will raise their banner as the now defending Super Bowl champions. It should be great theatre for all football fans.

For a variety of reasons, the Chicago Bears players, front office, coaching staff, and fans should be watching this game. There is a lot that we can learn.

For one, the Detroit Lions are an NFC North Division rival. They are expected to be a good team this year and could challenge for the division title.

With the Bears having to play them twice, it should be a great way to scout how they do things against this elite Chiefs team. The Lions expect to win this game, we’ll see if they can.

As for the Chiefs, every team should be watching them to see how they do things because they are building a little dynasty here.

They have been in five straight AFC title games and have hosted them all. They won three of them and then are 2-1 in the Super Bowl.

A large reason for that success is quarterback Justin Fields and head coach Andy Reid. Justin Fields and Matt Eberflus should be going to school watching these guys.

Ryan Poles can even take some things in watching this game. The Chiefs defense might take a step back this year but it is an offensive league that just might allow them to still thrive.

It is awesome to have football back and thinking about the Bears doing well makes it even better. We’ll see what they can do here.
