The Chicago Bears were the worst team in the NFL last season. Despite that, they had a big off-season and are expecting to be much better this year.

They have a last place schedule which will work in their favor but they clearly want to make sure that their roster is as good as it can be.

It is not going to be an NFC title game type of year but they do believe that they can make some noise. It is on them to go out there and do so with the roster they have created.

Some cuts were made to get to this roster. Out of all the roster cuts, these three are the most surprising:

1. Trevis Gipson

The Chicago Bears have moved on from Trevis Gipson via cuts.

Trevis Gipson has had an up-and-down career with the Chicago Bears. He was a fifth-round pick that turned into a good NFL player.

In 2022, however, he had a down year as did most of the players on the Chicago Bears. That is especially true for the defense which was absolutely horrific.

Gipson still has tons of talent though and he was outstanding in the preseason. It appeared that a bounce-back was coming for Chicago.

During the final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, however, news came out that Gipson had requested a trade.

The Bears apparently gave him permission to seek out a trade with another team. Eventually, to the surprise of many, he was just cut.

Now, Gipson has landed on his feet with the Tennessee Titans. We will see how he does this year with them but it was very surprising to see him cut.
