3. @ Clemson – Week Nine

This year’s Notre Dame vs. Clemson match could be an all-time great game.

Notre Dame and Clemson have built up a little bit of a rivalry over the years. During the COVID-19 battle 2020 season, the Irish temporarily joined the ACC.

They played against Clemson in the regular season but Trevor Lawrence missed the game because of a COVID-19 diagnosis. The Irish were able to win that game in overtime.

Of course, it was a great accomplishment to beat Clemson even though Trevor Lawrence was out. Although, they knew that they’d have to see them again if they wanted to win it all.

They played them again in the ACC Championship game and were beaten. Trevor Lawrence was there and he did Trevor Lawrence things. The game wasn’t really even close.

The season wasn’t dead though because the College Football Playoff Committee still believed that the Irish were worthy of making it in as the fourth team. They went on to lose to Alabama who ended up winning the whole thing over Ohio State (who beat Clemson in the round prior).

Ever since then, these two have had their rivalry grow. Now, they get to settle the score again. Notre Dame will travel down to Clemson in week nine for this big-time matchup.

As of right now, Clemson is ranked ninth. This could be a very good game for a variety of reasons when it comes around. We’ll know even more by week nine.

Having all of these good teams on the schedule is great for Notre Dame. If they are somehow able to run the table with this slate of games, they will be a College Football Playoff team and perhaps one of the favorites to win it all. That is exciting to think about.
