Chicago Bears: 3 non-starters to watch in final preseason game
The Chicago Bears have their final preseason game on Saturday afternoon. They are going to be playing the Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field.
This is a significant game for plenty of reasons. For one, they need to make sure that the starters have a good showing and stay healthy at the same time.
Following that, we will see some of the reserves enter the game and look to showcase their abilities. This is the game that will determine some of their fate.
These are the three non-starters that fans should be keeping their eyes on the most:
1. Tyson Bagent
The Chicago Bears have a significant backup QB situation this weekend.
The Chicago Bears have a quarterback. They have one that they believe can become a star and lead them to significant success.
Now, the question remains, who is going to be the backup for Justin Fields this season? There are a few options. Tyson Bagent, Nathan Peterman, and PJ Walker are the three competing for the job.
It is unlikely that Peterman will win the job but he probably won’t be cut because of how he helps the offense off the field. He is apparently a great clipboard guy.
That leaves Walker and Bagent. Most people expected Walker to have the job with ease but that won’t be the case for him.
Walker has been terrible in the preseason. On the flip side, Bagent has been amazing. Now, he has a chance to win that job with a strong performance in the preseason game.
Even if he is better in this game, it will be interesting to see if the Bears make the right decision and choose him over Walker. That is one of the biggest storylines of the game.
