Rumors swirl like crazy around this time of year and as the final hours tick down, the Chicago White Sox window to make big trades is closing.

The Miami Marlins were reportedly in on Tim Anderson which makes sense. With great players there playing well, Anderson’s bat would be one that could add to a lineup that could use some help and improve their middle infield.

Anderson recently broke his year-long home run drought and may just be coming into his stride on the season.

We have seen in the World Baseball Classic that he is a decent fielder at second base which makes him even more versatile for a team in search of a middle infielder that is flexible and helpful.

The Chicago White Sox could make a big move before the trade deadline.

His .245 batting average is ranked fourth on the season for the White Sox and if Anderson were to be sent to Miami Beach, he would slot in at the third position, just two points above Jorge Soler, who currently has more home runs and hits, while donning a lower average.

The White Sox have bulked up at the catcher position and need to dump some of the space on their roster. Yasmani Grandal’s veteran presence can help a young team that is in contention, and his switch bat is far from common for a catcher.

Matched with his power and patience at the plate, he’ll bolster a lineup that hits well with runners on. Yaz is a good idea for the Sox to move before they end up paying for dead weight in a catcher when Seby Zavala and newly acquired Korey Lee are a great bolster for the future.

Finding a suitor for Grandal is hard because a lot of teams seem to be able to make up for their offensive production up and down the lineup but in terms of teams that could use a catcher, there are few.

With universal DH, we have seen players like JD Martinez and Nelson Cruz have their careers saved.

Grandal is in a similar situation and on a team like the Cleveland Guardians, who use Josh Bell as a DH, if Grandal were to end up in Cleveland come 6 PM ET, he could be a solid hitting piece to help them.
