Cubs Rumors: 3 insane trade packages for David Bednar
Trade Two
The Chicago Cubs could move two good prospects for David Bednar.
The Chicago Cubs used to think so highly of Brennan Davis. He has been their number one prospect and their number two prospect. Unfortunately, different things have led to him slipping a little bit.
Now, he is sitting as their number seven guy. Once a top 100 prospect in all of baseball, Davis just needs to finally reach the big leagues and see what he can do. With the Pirates, that may be even more possible.
It was a really cool story when the Cubs drafted Ed Howard. He is a local kid that played for the Chicago White Sox ACE Program when he was younger. Seeing the north side squad take him was truly awesome.
Howard, a shortstop by nature, might not have a future with the Cubs with Dansby Swanson ahead of him at the MLB level. Even with Nico Hoerner at second base, that is eliminated as well for a while.
Howard going to the Pirates would be amazing for his development and his career. They might be able to get something out of his amazing talent in Pittsburgh because they will have a tad bit more time to develop him.
Along with Brennan Davis, this would be a great haul for the Pirates if they moved on from Bednar.
