SP. New York Mets. Justin Verlander. 35. player. 3.

Justin Verlander would look very good in a Chicago Cubs uniform in 2023.

Justin Verlander wanted to be a member of the Chicago Cubs when he was leaving Detroit all of those years ago.

He ended up with the Houston Astros instead because he ended up with a couple of World Series rings out of the deal which is obviously good for him and his legacy.

During this last off-season, however, he chose to hit free agency and sign with the New York Mets. Well, the Mets will Met, and they are well out of playoff contention despite some of the big expectations set on them coming into the season.

Now, Verlander might get traded away from New York and the Cubs should consider him. It didn’t happen the first time around but he would come now and bring a good veteran presence to a team learning how to win.

That experience could really help the bullpen. It will be interesting to see if he is actually traded but nothing should come as a surprise anymore.
