This trade offer helps the Brewers clear up a logjam in the outfield.

The Chicago White Sox need to fix their right field problem. Colas could still one day be a great hitter. If the Sox want to compete in 2024, Mitchell could slide in a play the position better.

He is currently on the IL with a shoulder injury. When he returns, either at the end of the season or next year, he will come back to a crowded outfield.

The Brewers have top prospects Joey Wiemer and Sal Frelick already contributing at the big-league level. Jackson Chourio is the team’s top prospect and is a future superstar. Tyler Black, the fifth-best prospect in the Crew’s system, can also play the outfield. Both are getting close to contributing at the major league level.

Christian Yelich is also still with Milwaukee and is playing well.

Moving Mitchell clears up a logjam in the outfield and gives the Sox a player to move over to right field who has the potential to play there for six years. In 119 at-bats, his average is .286 with a .803 OPS.

Since the Chicago White Sox are not competing this year, they can allow him to rehab and come back next season.

Small fits Hahn’s desire to get a pitcher that is close to the major league level. He is their No. 11 prospect who has had a cup of coffee in the bigs. The lefty got shelled in three career games.

He still has some upside and could still become a decent starter. Although, the Brewers moved him to the bullpen.

Speaking of the bullpen, the Brewers have a tradition of trading for relief pitchers at the deadline. Middleton is a player that can help the Brew Crew in high-leverage situations.

Zamora is the Brewers’ 20th-best prospect who can be thrown in since he has battled injuries and faces a logjam to break the big-league roster at shortstop. He still has a good stroke and can drive the ball.

He has been healthy this season with a slash line of .264/.367/.400 at Double-A Biloxi. Zamora also has a solid glove.

The Chicago White Sox get their answer at second base.

Turang has had his rookie struggles at the plate this year. He was even demoted to Triple-A Nashville for a time this season. His slash line is currently .208/.278/.314. He has a wRC+ of 61.

He has shown flashes that he can be a really good second baseman at the dish. Plus, he has the ability to win multiple Gold Gloves.

He did hit .298 during his demotion at Triple-A Nashville. It is just a matter of putting it together at the majors.

Robinson has a high ERA, but he is the Brewers’ 21st-best prospect. He also has the stuff to be a very good bullpen pitcher.

Hiura has been raking at Triple-A since he failed to make the team out of Spring Training. He is a former first-round pick who might be a reclamation project worth asking to be thrown in the deal. Remember, it is a bare hitters market and Eloy has team control left so asking for three players is not crazy.

The Chicago White Sox get three of the Brewers’ top-15 prospects.

The Sox would have to throw in Tim Anderson and Middleton to get the Crew interested in moving one of their top-five prospects. Chourio is still 19 and has a load of potential. Frelick is already at the majors and has the potential to be a really good player that the Brewers will not want to part with.

The Chicago White Sox did not need another catching prospect so cross Jeferson Quero off the list. Jacob Misiorowski has rocketed through the farm system, and it would probably take throwing in another major-league talent on the Sox end to entice the Brewers to make a deal involving their rocket-arm pitcher.

Black is rumored that the Brewers might want him up at some point this season to help them in the division race.

That leaves Eric Brown Jr. as one of the top prospects the Brewers could stomach trading away.

He is a former first-round pick who is slashing .266/.366/.348 at High-A Wisconsin. The Brewers have plenty of organizational depth at shortstop, so they might be willing to move him to get Jimenez’s power bat.

Small fits Hahn’s desire to get a pitcher and Lara gets thrown in since the hitting market is so barren right now.

Lara is a “lottery ticket” prospect. He is the Brewers’ 12th-best prospect. The team signed him as part of their 2022 international class to a $1.1 million bonus. He is a switch hitter with tremendous speed. That allows him to cover a lot of ground in center field.

His current slash line is .296/.391/.365 at Low-A Carolina. The Brewers have shown they are willing to part with a prospect like him when they traded Jhonny Severino to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Carlos Santana. Santana is an aging productive first baseman while Eloy has still not reached his prime.

In a seller’s market, the Chicago White Sox should get way more than just two prospects for Eloy Jimenez. It just comes down to if the Brewers want to pay the price.
