With the MLB Trade Deadline rapidly approaching, the Cincinnati Reds shared the news that they were shopping former National League Rookie of the Year Jonathan India, it came as a slight shock to some but makes perfect sense and could be of interest to the Chicago White Sox.

The asking price is said to be young and reliable pitching to help aid the Reds towards their already bright future, but India in the black and white pinstripes would be ideal if the White Sox can swing the move.

Sensibly, it starts with a permanent solution to a middle infield revolving door.

Zach Remillard, Leury Garcia, and Lenyn Sosa are some of the names that the Sox have thrown at the top of the diamond.

Besides India’s lockdown defense at the 2B position, his 68 runs, and 51 RBIs, across 14 HRs with a .251 batting average, his offense could be the spark the Sox need to get their rear in gear and start to be competitive in a seemingly weak position.

Jonathan India is a perfect fit for the Chicago White Sox

The Reds asking price could be met by the White Sox. As we saw last year, when Luis Castillo got dealt to the Seattle Mariners, the Reds got weaker on the mound, and not to add that Sonny Gray left for Minnesota, and Nick Lodolo throwing a 6.29 ERA, the Reds need help and depth.

The White Sox are deep on the mound, both in the bullpen, and rotation. We have already seen Jonathan Stiever make his appearance in the MLB, but after a few more seasons in the minors, and some refining, he could be a force to reckon with. 26th overall draft pick in 2022, Noah Schultz is dealing in Single-A with the Kannapolis Canon Ballers, posting 15.2 innings of work, and only 10 hits surrendered, with 22 strikeouts, and his teammate last season, Jonathan Cannon balled in High Class-A with Winston Salem, posting a 5-2 record, with 67 strikeouts, and a 3.59 ERA.

Packaging India with a good shortstop acquired in another trade, given Tim Anderson leaves the Southside, the Sox could kickstart their rebuild process, and snap out of this skid come seasons end, and maybe be a contender when the new season rolls around.
