Bulls News: Chicago is keeping a great young player

The Chicago Bulls are a team right in the middle. It is hard to decide what their direction is. Some injuries have piled up over the years so that has made things difficult as well.

One player that had big question marks this off-season has been Ayo Dosunmu. During his rookie year, he was a beloved Chicago Bulls player that folks wanted to keep around.

There is a bit of extra love for Dosunmu because of the fact that he was a standout while playing at the University of Illinois. Seeing him come to the Bulls after all that was so fun.

Well, on Friday afternoon, some great news came out about Dosunmu and the Bulls. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Chicago Bulls and Ayo Dosunmu have agreed on a three-year contract extension worth 21 million dollars.

That is an outstanding deal for both sides. Ayo is getting paid and the Bulls are keeping a great young player on a nice deal.

Could Ayo develop some more? Absolutely. He is not a superstar seeking a max deal at some point in his career or anything like that but he is just a solid player.

Sometimes, having good vibes in sports is important as well and this kid brings good vibes. The Bulls are better with him as a part of the organization.

What would happen if he were to be moved to another team in the league? He would probably go there and show that he is a great young player that can be a nice depth piece on a winning team. Why can’t that be the Bulls?

Hopefully, it can be a little bit more in 2023-24. They had a strong finish to the season that included one win in the play-in series.

They fell in the second play-in game to the Miami Heat who went all the way to the NBA Final and lost to the Denver Nuggets. The fact that they had a lead in that game during the fourth quarter shows that something good is there.

Hopefully, with his new contract, Ayo Dosunmu can help the Bulls take another step forward again this season.
