The Chicago White Sox can get something good for Lucas Giolito right now.

Let’s cross Jackson Holliday, Colton Crowser, and Jordan Westburg off the list. There is no way the Baltimore Orioles are parting with their three top prospects.

Secondly, Baltimore is not trading Gunnar Henderson, so keep that hope in a dream.

It is not unrealistic for the Chicago White Sox to get one of the Orioles’ prospects that rank between five and ten in their system. It is because some of those prospects are knocking on the door to get into the majors and there is no spot for them.

That is one reason the Orioles might be willing to overpay to get their guy.

The Chicago White Sox gets two bats in this deal:

Kjerstad is the Orioles’ fourth-best prospect. His path to the Majors is blocked. The guy can rake from the left side of the plate.

The Sox may have to throw in some cash to justify them giving up such a prized prospect. It is also not the greatest starting pitching market, so that is why the Orioles might part with the former first-round pick.

Kjerstad has made it to Triple-A after only two seasons of being in the minor leagues. His slash line is .339/.422/.583 with five home runs in 30 games for Triple-A Norfolk.

He smashed 11 home runs this season for Double-A Bowie. He can play both corner outfield spots and some first base.

Prieto is also at Triple-A hitting .333 with .878 OPS in 19 games. He is a career .306 hitting in the minors.

He is ranked No. 16 in Baltimore’s system. Prieto is also blocked because of the Orioles’ crowded infield.

Prieto was drafted as a second baseman, but he has been playing third.

The Chicago White Sox gets a power-hitting second baseman and a pitcher in this package:

Norby is the Orioles’ No. 6 prospect. He can play second and the outfield. He is hitting .285 with a .810 OPS with 13 home runs at Triple-A Norfolk.

Norby might also find it hard to break the Orioles’ lineup. The Sox could sure use his power bat down the road.

McDermott’s fastball tops out in the mid-90s, but he struggles with his command. He has a 3.66 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP at Triple-A Norfolk. He is Baltimore’s No. 17 prospect.

The Chicago White Sox finally solve their right-field problem with this trade:

Trading Santander might hurt the Orioles’ lineup. He is hitting .272 with 17 homers and a .843 OPS.

The Orioles have Colton Cowser ready to step in, although he is off to a slow start after his Major League debut. Santander will eventually have to be moved so Cowser can get at-bats every day.

Moving Santander also potentially opens up a spot for Kjersted down the road. Baseball Trade Values thinks Giolito has more value than Santander.

The problem is Santander is making around $7 million and still has another year of team control.

The Sox will need to give up some additional big-league pitching to give the Orioles incentive to give up their home run leader. Lynn is pitching better as of late and can help the rotation.

Haskin is the No. 13 prospect in the Orioles system. He has risen up from High-A to Triple-A. A crowded outfield means he will find it hard to get to the big-league club.

This one is a long shot because Hahn is asking a lot for Lance Lynn. It might be better to package him with Giolito to get a right fielder who can help the team next season.
