The Chicago Blackhawks could also dump some cap space in this trade.

If the Blackhawks want to dump some salary to take John Gibson, the Ducks can also help them out.

Tyler Johnson makes five million against the cap for one more year and he’d probably be better suited in Anaheim at this point.

The Hawks already added tons of veteran leadership this off-season but the Ducks could use some.

Tyler Johnson is a two-time Stanley Cup champion that might help out some of Anaheim’s young forwards.

Kids like Trevor Zegras, Leo Carlsson, Mason McTavish, and Jamie Drysdale could all benefit from a deal like this.

The seventh-round pick going back to Anaheim would just be compensation for taking Tyler Johnson.

They’d be getting tons of cap relief for this season while the Hawks are getting a goalie that can help them.

Although none of these trades are likely (or might not even be what it takes to make a trade like this), it is fun to think about what Gibson would look like with the Hawks.
