The Chicago Cubs have had a lot of ups and downs so far during this Major League Baseball season. They are probably not going to be a playoff team but the not-so-dominant NL Central suggests that there is a chance.

However, there has been some good play from certain people on an individual level. The Cubs didn’t have any players voted into the All-Star Game as starters but there will be plenty of representation overall.

On Sunday night, we learned that three Cubs players are going to be playing in the mid-summer classic as they have had marvelous seasons so far.

These are the three Cubs players that made it as National League All-Stars:

The Chicago Cubs All-Stars should all be very proud of their seasons so far.

1. Dansby Swanson

For one, Swanson has been one of Major League Baseball’s best defensive shortstops this year. In fact, only Wander Franco of the Tampa Bay Rays has a higher defensive WAR and a higher Outs Above Average. That is not bad for Swanson at all to be second in both categories.

He has also become a very good Major League hitter. Right now, he is slashing .261/.348/.407. He has nine home runs and 35 RBIs as well so things are going very well.

Swanson deserves to be an All-Star in every way. He has been everything that the Cubs have asked for since signing him. It will be fun to see him continue his journey in Chicago.

2. Marcus Stroman

Marcus Stroman has been very good this season. His record is 9-6 which is good but it probably should be even better. He has an ERA of 2.76 and 96 strikeouts.

These are great numbers for him with the Cubs. He has very much been the ace of the staff up to this point in 2023. We will see how he is used on the National League All-Stars.

3. Justin Steele

Coming into 2023, it would be a surprise if someone said that Justin Steele will be the third Chicago Cubs outfielder. Nico Hoerner, Ian Happ, or Seiya Suzuki might be guys that are thought of but Steele has earned it.

In fact, he probably deserves it more than any Cubs player. He has a record of 9-2 with an ERA of 2.43. That ERA leads Major League Baseball right now. He has been absolutely unbelievable and should be incredibly happy with the way it has gone for him this year.

The Cubs are lucky to have all of these guys. The mid-summer classic is always fun but this year’s trio of Cubs is very good.
