Blackhawks: Predicting where Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane end up
Jonathan Toews’s next move is certainly going to be interesting to see.
The Chicago Blackhawks were lucky to have some really great years with Jonathan Toews. He is the greatest captain in franchise history and one of the best players to ever put on that sweater.
We learned late in the season, however, that the Hawks were going to be moving on from Toews after the season ended.
It makes sense as the team is starting to look in a new direction. However, it was still sad to see the captain move on from the team that he had so much success with. Now, we wait to see if he retires or keeps going somewhere else.
Prediction: The Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche are one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. If Toews went there, he’d have a legit shot to win the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in his career.
A center core of Nathan MacKinnon, Ryan Johansen, and Jonathan Toews would be great for one year there in Colorado. They just traded for Johansen last week and MacKinnon is one of the three best players in the National Hockey League right now.
Toews still very much has a lot to give. He can be a depth scorer on a really good team and he wins faceoffs as well as anyone on planet Earth.
If his health is in check and he has the drive to go through the grind of an NHL season, Colorado is the place to be for him.
