Blackhawks: Predicting where Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane end up
Patrick Kane might even make some good money on his next contract.
Kane left the Blackhawks a very good offensive player still but his production was down just a little bit. When you heard about his injury after the season, however, it was easy to understand why that was.
Teams might be hesitant to sign an injured player on the wrong side of 30 to a contract that is more than a year for a lot of money but Kane might be worth it for a few teams.
He will certainly be more productive if he returns healthy and a productive Kane is very dangerous. A lot of teams would welcome even the chance that he’d be Kane again.
You might not get 2016 Kane but an 80-point guy that backs off defenses might still be in there for a team to have.
Prediction: The Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres have been connected to Patrick Kane for a long time simply because he is from Buffalo, New York.
Going to play for the Sabres would be a major homecoming for America’s all-time greatest hockey player. A lot of local folks there would love to see it.
Kane would be joining a tremendous young team loaded with stars that are just getting started like Tage Thompson, Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, and Jack Quinn amongst others.
This is the NHL team with the longest playoff drought. Kane going there and bringing his experience to that young team might really help them get back there.
