Blackhawks: Predicting where Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane end up
The Chicago Blackhawks are a team in transition. They have been building their prospect pool for about a year now. They entered the off-season with one of the best in the business.
They also got a little bit lucky with the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery as they won the rights to the first overall pick. That means they got to draft phenom Connor Bedard.
Bedard is one of the greatest prospects who ever lived and now he is ready to live up to the hype in the National Hockey League.
Bedard can only hope to recreate the success that the star Blackhawks forwards that came before he had.
Of course, that means Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Kane was traded to the New York Rangers before the 2023 Trade Deadline.
The Blackhawks had amazing times with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.
Kane was ready to make a deep playoff run with the Rangers but they were eliminated in the first round by the New Jersey Devils in 7 games.
As for Toews, he missed some time during the season dealing with some health issues but he returned for the final few games of the season.
During that time, we learned that it would be his last few games with the Chicago Blackhawks. Obviously, it was a very emotional time.
Now, the question remains as to what they are going to decide. Will Kane sign right? Will Toews even come back into the league?
The future of them is unclear at this point in time. Toews’s health issues make you wonder if he will hang up his skates and Kane’s hip surgery makes you wonder if he will sign a new contract right away.
We know for sure that Kane isn’t going to retire but that long time recovering from the surgery has everyone wondering where he might land.
This is a prediction of each player’s next NHL destination:
