Blackhawks: 3 free agent forwards to buy on Saturday
3. Tyler Bertuzzi
Tyler Bertuzzi would bring a lot of different things to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Blackhawks fans might remember Tyler Bertuzzi from his time with the Detroit Red Wings. They might remember his uncle Todd Bertuzzi even more who spent most of his career in the Western Conference, including the Wings.
Bertuzzi, more than any player on this list, is a guy that could either play on Bedard’s wing or the fourth line. He is much too skilled, however, to use him in a bottom-six role. This is a guy that could score 30 goals when he is healthy.
After some injury trouble, the Wings traded him to the Boston Bruins last season. He was amazing with them to finish the regular season following his arrival and in the playoffs.
Bertuzzi has an edge to his game. He likes to get involved in the extracurricular activities that go on after whistles. For a player as complete as he is offensively, it is fun to watch him get under the skin of his opponents.
The Chicago Blackhawks would love to have a player like Bertuzzi on their roster. He’d fit in when it comes to the things fans like in a player. Chicago loved Andrew Shaw? Bertuzzi is even more impactful at times.
