3. John Klingberg

John Klingberg would help the Chicago Blackhawks in one area right away.

There was a point in time when John Klingberg was one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL. He is still capable of lighting it up but he isn’t as good in his own end as teams would like him to be.

Sometimes, that is the price you pay for these offensive defensemen. There is no doubt that Klingberg has tons of skill but he needs to be put in a position to succeed.

Klingberg has spent most of his career with the Dallas Stars but he spent 2022-23 split between the Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks would add another Western Conference team to his resume.

With the Hawks, he would really help them on their power play. With Connor Bedard coming to town, they’d love to have a guy that can quarterback a top unit the way Klingberg can.

All of these guys are good defensemen but they all bring something different to the table. Regardless of what happens here, the Hawks are going to be happy with their blue line in short order.

The 2023 NHL Draft is in the books for the Blackhawks. light. Related Story
