NHL 2023 Mock Draft: Blackhawks lead a generational year
Picks 6-10 could truly become National Hockey League superstars in short order.
Will Smith and Zach Benson could go in either order but they are likely to round out the top six unless Matvei Michkov falls out of things.
He is a very good center that comes from the United States Development program. He will play for Boston College as a freshman in 2023-24.
Smith could be a Hobey Baker-type freshman if he plays as well as he can although the Arizona Coyotes’ top prospect Logan Cooley is returning to school and will have a chance as well. Why not make them teammates?
The Philadelphia Flyers are truly entering their rebuild. They have already made some huge trades and more are on the way.
Drafting someone like Ryan Leonard would be a very good move as they get this thing in motion. They will be in the sweepstakes for the number one pick next year and Leonard would go great with whoever they landed.
He is a rather creative forward that drives offense like a centerman whether he is actually playing center or wing. He should be a great NHL player if the team that actually gets him does things the right way.
