Blackhawks News: Chicago hit a home run with this 19th pick
The Chicago Blackhawks got the draft night started when they took Connor Bedard with the first overall pick. It was a highly anticipated pick but it finally happened.
Bedard is seen as one of the top prospects to ever come into the NHL. This is truly an exciting moment for Hawks fans around the world as they now have their new best player.
Now it is about surrounding him with talent for the next decade or so. If they are smart, they can win another Stanley Cup with Bedard leading the way.
Chicago came back on the board to try and add some more talent with pick 19. They got that pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Brandon Hagel trade.
The Chicago Blackhawks made the 19th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
With the 19th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the Chicago Blackhawks selected Oliver Moore from the United States National Development Program.
This is a truly amazing pick for the Chicago Blackhawks. Moore is an incredibly gifted skater that is still working on the rest of his game. The fact that he can burn out there is the biggest key to his game. That type of speed is a great base for him.
This amazing ability to skate will help him create chances in the offensive zone. With the right players around him, good things could happen for sure.
Connor Bedard will love adding him down the line when he is ready to skate in the NHL. It should be very fun to watch these two play together.
Moore is going to play next season with the University of Minnesota. He will likely get to play with Arizona Coyotes draft pick Logan Cooley who is one of the top prospects in the entire world.
A lot has already been mentioned about his speed and rightfully so. He very well could step onto NHL ice and be one of the fastest players in the league. You’d think that the Hawks are building things around speed and skill which is right where Moore should be.
There is no doubt that this is a great pick for Chicago. Following Bedard, fans can be very happy with these two picks.
