The depth of the draft is where the Chicago Blackhawks can try to shine.

Round Four

4 – 99: Matthew Soto

Kingston Frontenacs forward Matthew Soto is going to make some team that drafts him very happy if they find a way to land him in the middle of the draft.

He is a very good skater that uses his edgework to help him make plays. He also has a good shot that he uses a good release to get off. Teams are always looking for wingers that can do things like that.

Round Five

5 – 131: Kalem Parker

This is the first defenseman going for Chicago in this mock draft. Kalem Parker is a right defenseman coming from the Victoria Royals of the WHL. He will certainly continue to play there until he is ready to play pro hockey.

The RD depth took a hit in the Chicago Blackhawks organization this week with the Taylor Hall trade but this is a way for them to add another back.

Round Six

The Chicago Blackhawks don’t have a sixth-round selection.

Round Seven

7 – 195: Charles-Alexis Legault

Going right back to right defenseman here, the Blackhawks select Charles-Alexis Legault with this mock draft’s seventh-round pick.

He is going to play college hockey with the defending Frozen Four National Champion Quinnipiac University. This could be a guy that proves to be a late-round gem if he dominates his way through a good NCAA career in an elite program.
