Blackhawks News: This trade rumor might get them a great player

The Chicago Blackhawks going to be making the number one pick in the 2023 NHL Draft this week. Regina Pats forward Connor Bedard will be coming to Chicago.

Of course, he is a generational type of prospect that many believe will be a superstar from day one. He has some of the best numbers a prospect has ever had.

Chicago is still going to do what it can to make the rookie feel comfortable in his first year. That starts with making sure that he has some really good linemates to play with.

There isn’t a Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, or Marian Hossa to play with so moves will have to be made. Lukas Reichel will certainly get his chances with Bedard but they’d love to add a veteran.

The Chicago Blackhawks might be working on a big trade this week.

Well, on Monday afternoon, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet tweeted some news that will get fans excited. Apparently, the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins are in the early stages of a trade.

He was sure to note that the trade would ease the Bruins’ cap space situation and help the Blackhawks out. Obviously, that means that the Bruins would be giving the Hawks a good player to relieve the Bruins of his contract.

There are a couple of good players that this could be talking about. Taylor Hall and Jake DeBrusk both come to mind. Each of them would love to play with Bedard if they can’t be on the Bruins anymore.

DeBrusk is a nice winger that seems to always find the back of the net when the lights are the brightest. He has had a knack for scoring huge goals so far in his career.

Taylor Hall, on the other hand, is a former National Hockey League Hart Trophy winner as a member of the New Jersey Devils. He was the number one overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft.

He has excellent speed and the ability to score goals while making great plays. Due to his wide skill set, he’d be the perfect winger for the Hawks to add right now. He makes 6 million against the cap for two more years which the Hawks could absolutely afford without it being too long of a commitment.

No matter what comes of this rumor, it is clear that Kyle Davidson is out there trying to get Bedard some help while simultaneously making the team better. We’ll see where this goes.
