Blackhawks: 3 free-agent goalies to consider signing
3. Tristan Jarry
Tristan Jarry would be a great fit on this Chicago Blackhawks team right now.
The Chicago Blackhawks are a young team looking to take a step over the next few years. Well, Tristan Jarry is a 28-year-old goaltender that could fit right in.
He isn’t a young player early in his career anymore but he also isn’t a guy in his mid-30s either. He might not be the permanent answer on goal but he can help them play well in front of him by providing some stability for a while.
Jarry is coming off of seven years with the Pittsburgh Penguins. If he doesn’t re-sign before July 1st, he might be looking for a new NHL home for the first time in his career. The Blackhawks make a lot of sense.
A goaltender won’t impact Connor Bedard’s game a lot but adding both of them in the same off-season would for sure improve the Blackhawks roster right away.
He’d be the starting goaltender over Mrazek but they’d both see the crease all year long. The same can be said for all three of these guys. You never know who is willing to pay a goaltender during any given off-season. We’ll see if Chicago does.
