2. Frederick Andersen

The Blackhawks may think about a great goaltender like Frederik Andersen.

Frederik Anderson has been a very good goaltender in his NHL career. Chicago Blackhawks fans might remember his time with the Anaheim Ducks from that playoff series in 2015.

Since then, he became a very good starting goaltender. He has been with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes over the last few years.

Andersen played very well for the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They went all the way to the Eastern Conference Playoffs with him in the net.

Eventually, they were defeated by the Florida Panthers. He was far from the reason they lost that series.

Now, next season will be his age-34 season. He is now looking for a new home to play in during that season. The Chicago Blackhawks make a ton of sense for him.

He’d be, when healthy, the number one over Petr Mrazek but the two would form a pretty good duo if they are both on top of their game.

With a young team in front of him, he’d have to be cool with being a leader in the clubhouse which he is more than capable of doing. It is certainly something to consider.
