The Chicago Blackhawks could move a pick and a prospect for Tyler Toffoli.

With all of the news that lit up the world of the Calgary Flames on Thursday, they might just start to finally rebuild.

Some thought they would do that after last season when they were forced to trade Matthew Tkachuk away and they lost Johnny Gaudreau to free agency.

Instead, they got a few very good players back for Tkachuk and they tried to stay above water. They barely missed the playoffs but were a very inconsistent team.

They weren’t good enough for the playoffs in the end but they also weren’t even close to being bad enough for a lottery chance.

As a result, a potential Tyler Toffoli trade could very well start a rebuild. That is why this trade of a 2023 third-round pick and a prospect like Michal Teply could get it done.

A third-round pick would be nice for Toffoli considering the circumstances along with a prospect like Teply who is a former fourth-round pick (2019). There was a point where he was a prospect with a high-rising stock. Now, he might benefit from another team.

This could work out well for both teams based on all the information that we have right now.
