The Chicago Blackhawks may only get Taylor Hall by giving up a prospect.

There is a slight chance that Taylor Hall isn’t as cheap as we think. If it costs just a bit more than expected, maybe they can make a trade like this one work.

The Bruins only have five selections in the 2023 NHL Draft as of right now. None of those picks are in the first two rounds and two of them are in the seventh round where finding a full-time NHL player is incredibly unlikely.

Giving them a second and Wyatt Kaiser might be what they need to give away a good player like Taylor Hall. He is expensive for two more years but the Hawks also need a player as good as he is to play with Bedard.

Kaiser is a great young prospect that should be an NHL player one day. That second-round pick came to Chicago from the New York Rangers in the Patrick Kane deal.

In addition to Hall here, the Blackhawks get a fifth-round pick in 2025 which is still a few drafts away. It is a fair return but the main point is getting Hall and his skills to play with Bedard.

They might have to pay for that. We’ll see if Hall even gets moved at all or if the Bruins try to run it back to right the wrongs of this past postseason.
