Blackhaws: 3 incredibly fair trade packages for Taylor Hall
The Chicago Blackhawks are likely exploring all sorts of things that can help them rebuild their team. With Connor Bedard coming next week, all options should be explored when it comes to developing him.
One team the Hawks can look at for help is the Boston Bruins. After having this all-time great regular season, they lost in the first round to the eventual Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers.
One player to keep an eye on this off-season is Taylor Hall. Hall was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2010. He was shockingly traded to the New Jersey Devils in 2016 and he won an MVP there. Since then, he bounced around a little bit before finding his way to the Bruins.
With the changes that the Bruins are expected to be going through soon, they may look to trade Hall. They’d like to be free from his contract that has a six-million-dollar cap hit for the next two years.
If the Hawks were to land him in a trade, it might look something like this:
One Chicago Blackhawks’ 2nd-round pick might be a big return for Taylor Hall.
The Chicago Blackhawks giving up a second-round pick for Taylor Hall would be steep. That is probably among the highest returns for him that the Bruins would be able to field.
Chicago has two first-round picks and four second-round picks so it isn’t like they are hurting for high-end draft selections.
This pick also originally belonged to the Tampa Bay Lightning so it is a mid-second-round pick. The Bruins would love to make that selection though, especially if it freed all of that cap space.
Taylor Hall is a very good player and the Hawks can afford to have him at that price for a couple of more years which is why they might consider a price like that just to beat out other teams.
