The Chicago Blackhawks might be able to get DeBrincat back for a low price.

The Chicago Blackhawks are in an interesting spot right now. The Ottawa Senators very well might trade Alex DeBrincat soon but everybody knows that.

That might take away some leverage from them. That might really lower the price and the Hawks would be wise to consider something like that.

If the Senators would rather trade him to Chicago than a division rival like the Detroit Red Wings (DeBrincat’s hometown team), they just might. It is never a bad idea to start with a light package in return if you are Kyle Davidson.

Although this is a light package, there are some valuable assets here as well. The 2023 second-round pick that the Hawks got for Kane was already mentioned. Of course, Ottawa would like to add more picks early in this amazing draft.

Ian Mitchell is an RFA but the Senators would love to get him extended. He might even be able to crack their roster on opening night with some of the other stud defensemen that they have.

Wyatt Kaiser is also someone that the Chicago Blackhawks like but could move on from here. He still has two years left on his entry-level deal and is only 20 years old.

The former 3rd round pick (81st overall) could become a very solid NHL player. He played for Minnesota Duluth this year before getting nine games at the end of this season.

Ottawa may have the ice to give him right away. He has great potential in the NHL. If getting a player like that is part of a “cheap deal” for Ottawa, they did well.
