It is only Wednesday but it has not been a great week for the Chicago White Sox. Over the past two days, there have been several rumors about White Sox players seeking a trade at the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline and general manager Rick Hahn had, perhaps, the most condescending media scrum he has ever had on Monday while getting defensive of national reports regarding the team.

Given the tensions that have been displayed off-the-field for the White Sox, the White Sox were in desperate need of a break. The White Sox may have caught that break in Tuesday night’s victory over the Texas Rangers.

Luck has been no friend to the White Sox this season but that is exactly what occurred on Tuesday night. White Sox shortstop Elvis Andrus was initially ruled out and replay determined he still was out but Rangers’ catcher Jonah Heim did not provide a lane to home plate for Andrus.

The Chicago White Sox caught a massive break on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers.

On the replay, it looked like Andrus had a clear path toward the outside corner of the plate and that likely was the reason why Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy had a few choice words for the umpiring crew after the review.

Not to be lost in the frenzy but who was the White Sox player that had the game-winning hit that plated Andrus? None other than Zach Remillard.

Remillard was 2-for-4 on the night and is now slashing .333/.375/.333 on the season.

The White Sox still have a long way to go before belief should be restored in them. The White Sox are 11 games under the .500 mark but for a team that has talent but hasn’t been able to catch a break on the season, Tuesday night could prove to be a difference maker.

The hope is that the White Sox can take advantage and string together a winning streak that gets them back in contention.
