The Chicago White Sox season has been off the rails since the opening month of the 2023 Major League Baseball season and it would seem that the frustrations are beginning to boil over.

Between White Sox manager Pedro Grifol snapping at reporters over the questioning of his lineup; Lucas Giolito pondering the end of his tenure with the team; and White Sox general manager Rick Hahn continuing his condescending media scrums, things are not looking great for Chicago’s South Side team. Each of these three instances happened within the past 48 hours and there appears to be no end in sight for the drama surrounding the White Sox.

Bob Nightengale of The USA Today reported on Monday that several White Sox players may be looking to jump ship at the deadline.

"≻ Several veterans in the Chicago White Sox organization have privately expressed that they would welcome a trade, and considering the way they are playing, may soon get their wish.None of the players, however, have formally asked the White Sox front office to trade them.-Bob Nightengale via The USA Today"

Chicago White Sox players realize the end is near for this team and want to get out of town.

There appears to be no end in sight for the misery that is the White Sox season unless, of course, you’re a player that gets their wish and is traded at the 2023 Major League Baseball trade deadline.

But, the thing with that statement is that the White Sox likely won’t go about the right away of selling at the deadline. Only players on expiring contracts are the players that the team is looking to move in the event that they fall out of contention more than they already.

The ending to this White Sox season and, likely, their contention window is not going to be seamless. There are clear questions about the direction that the White Sox are headed and, like always with this team, no one knows who will provide the correct answers.
