The Miami Heat could make a move and trade for Zach LaVine

Who knew the Eastern Conference’s 8th seed would make it all the way to the NBA Finals? Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat did exactly that, but fell just short. If they were already in on trading for Bradley Beal before he ultimately went to the Phoenix Suns, why wouldn’t the Heat be interested in LaVine?

This would be quite the trade for Bulls fans, too, seeing LaVine team up with Butler, the guy Chicago initially traded in a deal where they acquired LaVine in the first place. Between the two of them, though, it might be enough to lead Miami back to the Finals and win it all. Assuming the Heat keep guys like Bam Adebayo, Caleb Martin and Max Strus around, that core could do it.

The Heat would have to include a combination of players like Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson or Victor Oladipo (assuming he opts into his $9 million player option for the 2023-2024 season) in a deal for LaVine. Kyle Lowry has a salary of over $29 million next year, but it’s doubtful the Heat would move on from a guy like him.

As far as draft compensation, the Heat are only without their 2025 first-round pick. So, they have plenty of firsts to work with, which is obviously what the Bulls are wanting in return.
