The end to the Chicago White Sox misery this season does not appear to be in sight as the team lost for the fifth time in their last six games with a 3-2 loss against the Seattle Mariners on Friday night.

The Sox are 30-41 on the season and sit 5.5 games out of first place in the American League Central division.

With each passing day, it seems more apparent that the White Sox rebuild has been a failure and during Friday night’s broadcast, Apple TV reminded fans of that fact.

What a disappointing graphic that reminds all about the mistakes that the White Sox have made financially over the past 20 years.

Of the six players that are shown, only two could be deemed a success and they are Jose Abreu and Frank Thomas.

Apple TV reminded Chicago White Sox fans of the team’s poor spending decisions on Friday night.

The more glaring aspect of this graphic is that the first three players listed, Andrew Benintendi, Yasmani Grandal, and Yoan Moncada highlight the mistakes made by the White Sox front office in this latest rebuild.

Benintendi hit his first home run of the season for the White Sox on Friday night but still has a ways to go as he his wRC+ on the season sits at 89.

Grandal, when healthy, has been among the White Sox’s most valuable hitters but since signing his contract with the team before the 2020 season, he has yet to appear in 100 games in a season with the team.

Moncada has struggled to stay healthy after being rewarded with his lucrative contract after an MVP-caliber season in 2019 and this season with the White Sox, he currently has a wRC+ of 78 on the season.

The truth is in the numbers and they prove that the money that the White Sox front office has spent in their tenure has been a failure. These financial mistakes should not be allowed to continue.
