Bold Prediction Number 2: The Green Bay Packers finish last in the NFC North

Last year, the Green Bay Packers finished 8-9 and that was with Aaron Rodgers. Now, they’re turning over the keys to Jordan Love in effort to try and strike gold three times in a row at the quarterback position.

The problem is, Love is nowhere near the prospect Aaron Rodgers once was. Love came out of Utah State as a loose cannon. He has a huge arm, yes. But, he’s played reckless his entire football career. The Packers are going from a highly-calculated, intelligent and very purposeful, future Hall of Fame quarterback in Rodgers to a raw, unproven and underdeveloped player in Love.

Green Bay’s defense is middle of the pack, and barely in the top half of the league. If Love struggles — and he will — that defense is going to be on the field a whole lot. The Packers’ lack of alpha wide receivers and too much youth at the position is going to bite them, too. Love is not going to pan out, period. That’s a prediction in and of itself, but let’s watch and see.

The Lions are a better team than a year ago. The Vikings are still a potent offense and turned over their defense. Of course, the Bears are a better team. The Packers are arguably the only team that is significantly worse than they were a year ago, and thus they’ll finish last in the NFC North.
