Trade Number 2: The Chicago Bulls trade DeMar DeRozan to the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are a peculiar team. They have a lot of talent, specifically within their starting five. Talent like point guard Trae Young, guard Dejounte Murray, forward John Collins and center Clint Capela should be quite enough to compete in the East. But, the Hawks just haven’t quite figured it out yet.

For that reason, they could go after a sly veteran like DeMar DeRozan, who would help inch this team closer to being a contender right away.

In exchange for DeRozan, the Bulls would get Collins and a first-round pick. Collins has been involved in trade rumors for a few years now, although the Hawks did end up giving him an extension, which was a bit odd and misleading. It still seems like Atlanta would part with Collins if the right deal came about, and this type of trade would make a ton of sense.

Not only would the Hawks unload a player they’ve been trying to trade, but they’d be getting the exact type of player they have needed to help put them over the top. DeRozan is someone who can create for himself, and others at times, but will also be another dependable option in crunch time.
