The 2023 NHL Scouting Combine has been taking place this week. One of the most hyped players of all time, Connor Bedard, is participating in it as he prepares to be the number one overall pick. Of course, the Blackhawks will be the team making the selection.

Chicago is moving away from the players that led them to a modern-day dynasty and Bedard symbolizes the future. One player, however, that is just fresh off the team is Patrick Kane. They traded him to the New York Rangers before the 2023 trade deadline.

Kane and the Rangers were eliminated in the first round by the New Jersey Devils in seven games. Now, Kane is recovering from surgery and will have a 4-6 month recovery. It will be interesting to see what team he plays for.

Bedard was asked about Patrick Kane at the combine and Chicago Blackhawks fans are going to like his answer. He made it clear that he sees him as one of the best players who ever lived. He also noted that he loved learning from him at his camp.

Chicago Blackhawks fans love hearing Connor Bedard talk about Patrick Kane.

As far as the Blackhawks connection goes, this is really cool to hear. Clearly, they are going from one elite superstar to another.

Bedard, in all honesty, has the tools to become an even better player than Patrick Kane was during his prime. They can only hope he is equally as much of a winner.

He clearly knows how to attack himself to an organization too. Saying nice things about Patrick Kane will always get you in the good graces of the Chicago faithful. He is the second most important male athlete in the history of the town only behind Michael Jordan.

It is very unlikely that Kane would come back to play with Bedard but that certainly would be really cool. With that said, the Hawks just need to work on building around Bedard with other great players so they can take advantage of his crazy ability.

The next step for Connor Bedard will be Nashville where he is set to become the first overall pick. All of this is so exciting for both Bedard and the Blackhawks fans.
