Rasheem Green won’t be on the Chicago Bears roster in 2024

The Bears still need work at the edge rusher position. It’s one spot that they did not address, and Ryan Poles knows it. Unfortunately, the draft simply didn’t fall their way when it comes to this position, and that’s okay. Sometimes, things just don’t fall the way you want. And, Poles wasn’t going to reach on a player in the draft.

Rasheem Green was essentially a 1-year rental for the Bears this year, and he’s not a bad player. He’s just going to be one of those plug-and-play types who can give them some consistent work as a rotational guy. But, next year the Bears will likely focus in on the edge rusher position as one that needs special attention, and Green won’t be around for the future there.

Travis Homer won’t be on the Chicago Bears roster in 2024

Another 1-year rental for the Bears will end up being veteran running back Travis Homer. It’s tough to have longevity as a running back in this league, but especially tough after you’ve already been around a few years and found a new team. Homer is a specific type of back, excelling on third downs and special teams. However, he’s not hard to replace. The Bears will be able to find someone like Homer next year, through the draft or even undrafted free agency.
