Ranking the top 5 quarterbacks on Chicago Bears 2023 schedule: No. 1, Patrick Mahomes

It’s a good thing the Bears will get this one over early in the season. They will take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 and on the road. Going into that type of hostile environment and playing against the best quarterback in football might not end well for this Bears team.

The best the Bears can hope for is to come away with having competed and kept it close, because Mahomes is as good as it gets and the Bears simply aren’t a good enough team to beat him.

One thing I will point out, though, is that the Bears have some guys who are recently experienced in playing against Mahomes. Newly-signed linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards both played this Super Bowl team last season, so being able to lean on them for some insight is going to be key for the defense as a whole.

The number one thing you have to do in order to beat Mahomes is to get to him extremely early and often, and the Bears don’t have the pass rush to be able to do that. This one could get ugly, but again, we’re hoping Chicago can put up a fight that fans will be proud of.
