Ranking the top 5 quarterbacks on Chicago Bears 2023 schedule: No. 4, Jared Goff

The Detroit Lions were one of the league’s top surprises of last season, finishing 9-8 and looking to be a team on the rise. Unfortunately, they’re also a division rival. Quarterback Jared Goff enjoyed one of the better seasons of his career in 2022, throwing for over 4,400 yards, 29 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

In two games against the Bears, Goff threw for a combined 491 yards, four touchdowns and zero picks. The Bears were also only able to sack him just three times in those two games, giving him a good amount of time to find his weapons.

Speaking of weapons, Goff has a new weapon at his disposal in former Bears running back David Montgomery, who will come for revenge now twice a year. Detroit also added rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, out of Iowa, who has looked good so far in the offseason workouts.

Goff is an experienced passer who has played the Bears seven times in his career, with a record of 4-3 against Chicago and a rating of 92.3.

The Bears will take on Goff twice, of course, with the first time coming Week 11 on the road. The Bears then play the Lions quickly, again in Week 14, but this time at Soldier Field.
