The Chicago Blackhawks have lots of great prospects to be excited about and more are coming once the 2023 NHL Draft takes place.

Connor Bedard is the prize of the draft and he is coming to Chicago. This weekend, however, the focus will be on the CHL’s Memorial Cup. Bedard’s Regina Pats were eliminated earlier in the playoffs.

Three of his teammates from Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Championships have a chance to advance to the Memorial Cup Final on Friday night.

Colton Dach, Kevin Korchinski, and Nolan Allan are all members of the Seattle Thunderbirds who are set to take on the Peterborough Petes in the semifinal. The winner will take on the Quebec Remparts in the championship.

The Chicago Blackhawks have some amazing prospects still playing.

Obviously, these three studs won the gold medal with Bedard at the WJC and are now looking to complete a truly successful season with their WHL club.

Korchinski is the best of these three as he could be on Chicago’s blue line as soon as next year. The now former seventh-overall pick is incredibly skilled and can make a difference in multiple different ways. It is no surprise to see his team this far.

If Seattle is able to make it to the final and potentially win it, it will make the Chicago Blackhawks look even better. Three of their ten most prominent prospects led their junior team this far and they have a generational player coming with tons of cap space.

Hopefully, they are able to get it done. In order to get to Seattle in the semifinals, the Petes had to come up with a huge comeback overtime win over the host team in the Kamloops Blazers. It was an incredible game and they are ready to make the Thunderbirds work hard for a win.

Seattle also made it to the semifinals before that with a big win over the Blazers. The 6-1 victory had to make them feel good about their chances in this one vs the Petes.

Seeing this many Blackhawks prospects this deep in the OHL playoffs is incredible, especially when you think about what some of the other prospects have done around the world this year. Big things are coming.

It would be nice to see these guys keep their season going so they come to training camp next year feeling good about themselves, even if the NHL isn’t their 2023-24 future.
