Trade Number 3: The Chicago Bulls move DeMar DeRozan for a different package

Another possibility of the Bulls sending DeRozan to the Celtics would hinge on a couple of things. First of all, the Celtics would really want to change things up this summer. They would end up moving on from Jaylen Brown, but sending him elsewhere, opening up some cap space.

From there, they would be able to absorb a DeRozan contract and create that perfect pairing of he and Tatum again.

The intriguing aspect of this deal is that the Bulls don’t get an elite player in return, but they do get a capable point guard who could either start or become a sixth man staple. Malcolm Brogdon has two more years on his deal, but if the Bulls moved on from DeRozan, they’d be just fine, financially speaking.

We also don’t know if the Bulls would try and move on from LaVine, too, which would open the door for another complete teardown and rebuild.

Adding Brogdon could actually be huge for Chicago, too, because the point guard position has been in flux and could be a big weakness going forward. Re-signing Coby White is a priority now, for a team that might never see Lonzo Ball play again and is likely also losing Patrick Beverley to free agency.
