This Chicago Blackhawks player will become a superstar in 2023-24
The Chicago Blackhawks obviously have some young pieces that they are very excited about. There are also going to make some very nice draft picks that will be coming in this year.
Of course, that includes Connor Bedard who is going to be the number one pick in the draft next month. Chicago won the right to draft him at the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery.
Well, he isn’t the only player that is trying to become a star with this team. There are some great players that plan on suiting up on 2023-24.
One of those players is Lukas Reichel. The Hawks made him their first-round pick (17th overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft.
The German forward just turned 21 so he is ready to break out in this league. Nobody should be surprised if he comes out flying next year.
In fact, he might just end up being a superstar now. He has the pedigree that comes with being a high draft pick. We also saw toward the end of last year that he can be brilliant.
Lukas Reichel is going to be huge for the Chicago Blackhawks next season.
In 23 games played in the NHL, he scored seven goals and eight assists for 15 points. It isn’t a point per game beginning but he was slow out of the game and that is also unrealistic to expect right now.
Connor Bedard might very well be the exception to a lot of rules. As a result of that, Reichel might find himself in a very good spot with this team. They should see time with each other at five on five and on the power play which will help both of their numbers.
Generational talents like Bedard make others around them better but it helps when those around them are also very good. Reichel could have become a star anyway based on his talent but having Bedard now could elevate him much quicker and even more than we thought.
As mentioned before, we saw some examples of how good he was last year and that will be amplified by better players and more experience (development). 2022-23 was hard to watch at times but there will be plenty to look forward to with Reichel’s squad next year.
